Distinctively Sweden carries imported Scandinavian products from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. We think we have the best from of all of these countries!!

In 1993 Distinctively Sweden opened its doors at the same location they are located in today - Messenger Square, Plainville, MA. Over the years we have added many different products to our store, but have always been true and proud of our heritage.

A Christmas Catalog was added and our mail order business was launched. The catalog has gained in popularity and we now send it all over the country. It is a professional catalog, beautifully done and has made the store a name not only to the Scandinavian World but as a well-known Distinctive Gift Shop.

Vera Bradley Handbags, Luggage and Accessories were added to our distinctive store. Vera is a Swede and her daughter Barbara, co-owner of the company is married to a Danish man. We are proud to sell these cotton, washable, beautiful fabric handbags. Thanks to our wonderful customers we attained Emerald status from the company and hope to continue to do so.

Dale of Norway Norwegian Sweaters have been part of the line since we opened. Dale of Norway Sweaters are the official sweaters of the U.S. Ski Team, Norwegian Ski Team and Canadian Ski Team besides Cross Country and Women’s. Distinctively Sweden is proud to carry the Olympic Sweaters and Hats for Men, Women and Children along with an outstanding selection of additional Sweaters.

www.distinctivelysweden.com was added in 2000 and has been our greatest challenge. We have a secured site and you can purchase right on line. We are continually adding new products to our web site, so please visit us often.

Scandinavian foods and bakery products have been a staple at our store since the beginning. Bakery products such as coffee rings, braids, buns, Swedish rye bread are available from the Crown Bakery in Worcester. Our Deli Counter is open year-round and we carry large selection of Cheese, preserves, cookies, candy and Swedish coffee.
